The Netherlands and Romania Sign Memorandum of Understanding

In the last week of August, the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality organized a program for a Romanian delegation consisting of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Education, education directors and support staff, with the aim to intensify the cooperation in the field of green education.

The program focused on the following themes:

  • Horticulture
  • Agriculture
  • Circularity
  • Water

To underline the collaboration between the two countries, a Memorandum of Understanding was formally signed by Florentina Nanu on behalf of AgriEdu CEX and Annemarie Moons on behalf of Groenpact.

Green education in The Netherlands

On Monday august 29th, this delegation visited Yuverta. To show them the current spearheads within green education in the Netherlands, several presentations were held at the Yuvertapark in Houten. Sijtske Ouderkerken gave a presentation about the ‘green living building’, Joris van der Gun about the climate house, and Heidi Kamerling about inquiry-based learning and biodiversity.

Follow up with roadshow in Romania

Subsequently, Dutch green education delegates, will organize a roadshow in Romania. In the week from 4 to 9 September, various regions in Romania will be visited, where explanations are given about Dutch green education and the possibilities for Romanian green education are discussed and explained.
