Paimed has implemented an innovative vertical gardening system at IES Vicente Gandía, transforming urban spaces into greener and more sustainable environments. This initiative is part of a broader project to evaluate the system's effectiveness in different climatic regions of Europe and promote its integration into education and vocational training. The Erasmus+ Tecroc Urban project: Building Reliable Ecofriendly Affordable Transversal facades to make the whole Europe Green (BREATHEGREEN), brings together partners from Spain, Finland, Denmark, Romania, Czech Republic, and the Netherlands with the aim of promoting greener urban environments through a low-cost and low-maintenance solution.
The “Tecroc Urban” green facade system is being developed in collaboration with vocational training students, allowing them to gain practical knowledge about urban greening. In Spain, the team consists of EFA La Malvesía and the company Paimed, which contributes its specialized knowledge of the system, reinforcing collaboration between educational centers and companies, and providing students with applied training in sustainable construction and urban planning solutions.
For the development of the pilot case, which will serve as an example for the correct development of subsequent cases, the system was installed at the facilities of a third collaborator, IES Vicente Gandía. During February, several visits were made to IES Vicente Gandía, where Paimed technicians explained to the vocational training students of the agricultural family the functioning of the Tecroc Urban multilayer system, its advantages compared to other systems, and its assembly process.
These sessions not only provided theoretical training but also actively involved the students in the installation of the system on one of the institute’s walls. With this practical experience, the students had the opportunity to learn firsthand how the system is assembled and will be able to follow the progress of the process.
