The European Platform for Urban Greening partners in Romania organised an event for the IKEA Bio Garden. The event, which took place on 10 February 2024, included professional discussions and workshops on the maintenance of bio gardens.
On 10th of February Romanian team organised the first event of the year within the center of excellence with IKEA Bio Garden in Bucharest!
The collaboration consists of maintenance activities for IKEA Bio Garden, event attended by landscape architecture students and volunteers, guided by professionals from Bucharest branch of the Romanian Landscape Architects Association.
This event was organised under the cooperation started in september 2023 by IKEA Romania, Fepra Romania and ASOP Romania Bucuresti-Ilfov.
The day started with discussions regarding the context for the creation of this bio garden, and continued with a practical workshop which consisted in protection fencing for areas sown with perennials and annuals mixtures, as well as in the development of a shed for small fauna.
We are thrilled about this new experience and we trust that this is an important step toward building a strong local community able to protect the biodiversity within urban environment!
